@bojidar_bg@mastodon.social curious perspective. How do you even manage to escape AI? For me its been pretty much a lost battle: I have been arguing against it for months with everybody I know and now even my employer is going to start demanding AI usage for writing code.

#AskFedi Am I lagging behind for not linking AI code generation?
Like, I use AI daily to ask questions, check APIs and what not, but I simply cannot trust it to generate code for me, at least not autonomously.
All friends around me tell me I'm crazy and that I should just prompt, let the AI generate stuff and then just double check it makes sense. It just feels weird to me.

@gregkh@social.kernel.org it doesn't provide an exact list of symbols modified, but it generates a better diff, which allows to more easily see what has been touched. So you are correct, it doesn't solve you problem exactly, but I think it might help anyway.

@gregkh maybe experiment with the different ways of generating diffs? The git diff sub-command has an option called algorithm, which defines how the diff is computed. If I remember correctly Myers is the default and its not that great. Histogram gave me the best results so far.

@pid_eins wow, wasn't expecting this. From an observability and sysadmin perspective this looks amazing. Hoping that Prometheus picks this new interface fast, so that we can make use of it.
