Annoyingly, I can't cron the ereader to wakeup and make itself available for receiving traffic so I now have a tiny webui that takes in the device IP and runs the scrape on demand so I can now do this from my phone

I've been really enjoying my lil ereader, the xteink x4, for carrying around with me all the time and being more mindful about what media I consume. I have a lil program that will scrape my RSS feeds, make it into an epub and push it over http to the device

Also took a while to figure out the dual stack domain for SQS. Amazon docs tell you to use `sqs..amazonaws.com` but it's actually `sqs..api.aws`, the first has no AAAA record https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSSimpleQueueService/latest/SQSDeveloperGuide/sqs-dual-stack.html

Helping some friends out with an IPv6 only ECS cluster in AWS. For some reason, the UI will default to the IPv4 only ECR domain and not the dual stack?? And you can't change this in the UI, only in JSON

I would love to do the transcoding on my desktop where I'm streaming and then just let Owncast do the broadcasting part, this is what I do with Twitch now and Enhanced Broadcasting

I want to take a look at hosting Owncast but I'd rather not have an expensive cloud instance sat there doing nothing all the time for cost reasons. From what I've read so far, I can't seem to see any options for scaling or clusters

I wonder if I could make a lil script to scale up and down the cloud instance size so that it doesn't cost a fortune. I could host this on my own hardware but then I'm very limited on upload bandwidth

Okay, I think I've got it working. I ended up changing my NAT64 prefix to something other than the standard so I can talk to LAN devices over it. I now have an mDNS repeater (Avahi) which broadcasts the Chromecast's nat64 address and it seems to cast okay from my phone! Goal is V6 only LAN I'm still learning a lot about how all these transition technologies work #ipv6

From what I can see, the CC audio is replying to mDNS with a v4 address because it doesn't seem to get a v6 address at all

Playing around with DHCP option 108 which tells end devices to disable ipv4 and go ipv6 only if they support it. Most things seem to work nicely (probably due to NAT64) but I now can't connect to my chromecast audio. hmmmm
