@decryption@aus.social @aj@gts.sadauskas.id.au @jamesh@aus.social I'm convinced that in 500 years the 20th century will be remembered not for its wars or butchery or discoveries, but as the time we fucked all the cities by deciding everything should be built around cars as the main (often only) transport option, and the next couple of centuries were spent unfucking the place, and abandoning those beyond repair (eg Canberra).

@Kels_316@aus.social Had a discussion with one such a while back and asked her if she'd ever heard of imposter syndrome and got a completely blank look. Went on to a bullshit career as a management consultant and ended up on some university sinecure bullshitting on about AI. Five stars.

@bigjsl@aus.social Became dukes and earls and counts and had fun in the endless toing and froing of little mini-states and gradual accretion of land into larger states over the next 500 years.

I totally get the nerd impulse to spend 7.4 hours getting a thing to work that will shave 3.56 seconds a day of your onerous arse-larding schedule of multi-monitor cockpitting but have you considered fucking around with a fancy word predictor is the worst possible way to do it?

@pluralistic@mamot.fr people are always betting that physics is wrong, but this one is especially daft and wasteful. It’s exhausting.
