@peter@social.linss.com @alice@lgbtqia.space I think a lot of LGBTQIA folk wont feel safe around cishet folk until they have seen consistent ally action from them.
They have seen too many self proclaimed "supportive allies" turn around and show that their access to a fast food chicken sandwich, or their fandom of a fantasy book/movie series is more important to them then their allyship.
The "supportive ally and nothing else" gesture isn't going to carry much weight on it's own.
Just wear the damn rainbow patch without worrying about its affect on your romantic prospects, and tell them their shirt/dress/shoes (whatever) looks fabulous on them.
