It's 2026, and I'm unable to sign up for medical benefits because the website is broken. No system requirements listed, no error information, nothing but a never-ending spinning animation. When I call in, literally the first question I receive is "are you using Firefox? You need to use Google Chrome". It's a simple web form asking for my zip code, birth date, and SSN. People, this is unacceptable on so many levels. #healthcare #enshittification #fuckcapitalism

@adhdeanasl thank you! That's a pretty lame excuse. I doubt they address other students by their full legal name as well and instead employ nicknames and other shortened versions. Either way, this is still the right thing to do. Bravo!

@danirabbit I had not thought of this, but it very much describes my encounters with AI boosters. I'm sure those people hate the imagery a clear mirror provides but THANK YOU for sharing this. (I'm also reminded of some human nature illustrated in Westworld).

@danirabbit I recently went to a concert. The band has been getting more and more scathing in their sarcastic jabbing at certain ignorant stereotypes. I was *shocked* at the number of people in the audience who were the target of that sarcasm and still LOVED it. It became painfully clear: this country is addicted to violence and vengeance. They don't even notice if it's aimed at their face, as long as they can cheer on what they perceive as aggression.

@gangrif@social.undrground.org not sure if it supports what you need, but I have loved my Garmin devices (currently on a Fenix 6X). Bonus points that I sync it via Gadgetbridge, so no cloud dependency.

@cthos This trend solidifies my rather strong opinion that there are two places of accountability needed:

1. gov officials need to be held accountable for failing the population with basic health availability
2. techbros need to be held accountable for promoting and selling fake and harmful medical products that aren't licensed, reviewed, or approved

@protonprivacy@mastodon.social I choose Proton because I want to get AWAY from these things. I don't agree with Proton prioritizing this hype bubble, but you know your business. However, if you don't allow me to opt out, I will opt out of Proton entirely.

@gangrif@social.undrground.org Graphene is my daily driver and I quite enjoy it. I did add some google back in, but Graphene keeps that strongly sandboxed which is great! Could the battery life also be from a lack of SIM? I.e. maybe it doesn't need to power the extra radio?
