IMHO there are two options:

it will not be fully #OpenSource, including his "funky" algos
it will be fully OpenSource and there's something for him to get from it

#Musk is not the type of person to do this out of altruism

he did the same when opensourcing the Tesla's patents... The objective was not to be nice for the environment by accelerating the development of EVs worldwide... This allowed him to increase velocity in development and to set the market standard...

I don't think this is human nature IMHO this is the nature of people who are addicted to power in essence, a democratic system ought to make sure those people are never in charge if citizens had more time to spend on thinking about these matters instead of having to worry about getting food on the table and to pay the bills, the power-addicted would definitely weigh much less on this keeping people miserable is the best way to keep them docile, no matter what ideology

I have a feeling they are way less than those that endure poverty socialism, in essence, does not create a system everybody is dependent on... it just tries to make sure everybody has the bare minimum to have a decent life (I know, many failures in History... but when you look at it, most of the time, its because the people in charge forgot the essence of their role)

thanks for sharing @mwop@phpc.social kinda confirms my feeling very powerful if you're a confirmed expert, like you but if you're not [yet], AI takes away human's capability to learn from experience as it is focused on the end result and barely used like a sparing partner to improve oneself the tech industry is one of the first areas where this hits hard (soon no more juniors!) but this trend hit all areas relying on intelligence sure things get done, but at what cost for human experience & humanity?

How could one take finances seriously? I mean, the fact that stocks go up and down every time Trump has something to post or to say, and that most of the time it’s plain BS, does tend to tell me that finances is just a game for immature kids with way to much money that have no understanding whatsoever of what is really going on…

Did some hacking to use the Kindle Highlights, in context (that means, with the book's content) on my computer... First draft, very hacked, nothing tested... but it works It will be quite hard to inject this back into a format that is usable in Calibre (note... New existential question popped up in my mind... Who is the person that thinks of the patterns that are printed on toilet paper? And how does that person work? Is there like a complete design team behind it? Do they make proofs of concept and have test panels that need to fill in a questionnaire? Or is it like just someone who asks his kid for a drawing... and go for it.

@b_viguier@phpc.social yes... there is a difference in the way the Garbage Collection works in theory, if I am to unset an object that is used as key, I think I prefer the Weakmap approach, where it also removes the entry from the map BUT... and this I did not know... when using an ENUM, the behavior is the same in both cases and the entry in the maps are preserved: see here: https://3v4l.org/tpnsc#v8.4.12

Have been reminded by a fellow #PHP dev that, instead of a simple array, one could also use WeakMap...

Nice thing with this is that it is a real dictionary... and that it accepts objects as keys... and this includes `Enum::case`
