I'm working on a small talk about the best way to walk through rain and get the least wet. For this I setup a simulation in python: Here is the probably most stupid and amazing plot I ever made. I spend way to long getting the 3D-colormap histogram to work.
For those who are wondering the findings of the simulation are groundbreaking – moving faster ⇒ less wet
@lwilde@social.nerdnet.ovh and I are currently planning to build a magnetron sputter setup. Since i learned that #freecad also is includes #FEM functions I want to try and model the magnetic field of the magnetron. I managed to get very simple geometries to work but quickly got stuck on more involved once.
Does someone know a nice guide which explains how to properly design 2D geometry for FEM simulation. Or maybe can explain to me what the operation in the red circle is, which is used in the examples?
While walking around looking for cool stuff to photograph I stumbled across @mossesandbees@scicomm.xyz, who had some dead beetles with her, the perfect match for my macro setup. So we ended up taking pictures of dead beetles at 1am, random stuff that happens at #39c3.
