Day trip to #Calais and was fascinated by the posters made during the German occupation in #WW2. Some are quite chilling and tell a story of the banality of martial law.
I'm wondering what the reason is behind the diverse gorgeous #typefaces used for each line.
I have a theory that wartime conditions meant that the printer just had to make the sections as coherent as possible with whatever type sets they had available. But it might also have been standard #design practice. Any ideas?

The Marias are my current musical obession, along with some other latino #indiepop stuff which is awesome. (Maye, Rosalia, Alicia Te Quiero, Disco Bahia).
Their music reminds me of early 90s bands like Sneaker Pimps, Dubstar, Massive Attack and Portishead.
I miss the days when artists put out CD singles with some really interesting versions of the song. They've got a couple that really go hard when performed live, like this one, "Loverboy".

Well shiver me timbers. The theme tune of "The Onedin Line" came on the radio the other day, and because ADHD brain does that sort of thing, I looked it up.
My god it's glorious, and I can see why it was the biggest thing on UK TV in the 1970s. Instantly hooked.
It's about a young chancer who tries to set up a shipping company in the 1800s. Compared to the styling, glamour and sophistication of today's TV series, it's almost quaint, but still quite thrilling.
