5/ Ukraine has carried out numerous drone strikes against Russian fuel depots, including at Proletarsk in August 2024 where an attempt to extinguish the flames with prayers failed. The attack on the Proletarsk depot alone reportedly caused the destruction of over 100,000 tons of Russian fuel, worth over 7 billion rubles. 4/ According to the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel, the firefighters intend to carry out another attempt to extinguish the flames, but will be forced to leave the fire to burn out if they are unsuccessful. There have already been a series of explosions as the fire has spread.

3/ Engels-2 air base is home to the 121st Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment with the Tu-160M and 184th Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment with the Tupolev Tu-95MS strategic nuclear-capable bombers. Both bomber types have repeatedly carried out long-range attacks against Ukraine.

2/ The Engels oil depot was targeted on the night of January 7-8 and has been burning out of control ever since. Attempts by firefighters to use a foam generator to extinguish the blaze have been unsuccessful. They are now reportedly waiting for new equipment and foam.

2/ The Russian publication 'To Be Precise' reports that at least 44 government bodies have stopped publishing data, with some statistical platforms being taken down entirely. The law was changed in February 2023 to allow the government to stop publishing state statistics.
