Which is precisely the point that was being made.

@hazelweakly if this is true, and I'd argue it is, why are people in such a panic that agents write some code? It would seem these are the things to focus on for impact. I never started freaking out when Puppet started writing Apache httpd instead of using vi(1). I moved on to higher level concerns. Yet many people are in a frenzy because Claude wrote a for loop instead of them doing it by hand.

We didn’t run out of money, sell the company off to private equity, or shut down in bankruptcy. Instead, Medium has been profitable since August ‘24.

Instead we took several pages out of The Private Equity Playbook and:

reduced staff
focused on margins
focused on growth

Exactly what good PE investors (not the vultures) do. 😳
