'Basin' (2025)
Last year I had the chance to visit Tasmania for the first time & to have a crack at the first day of the Overland track.
That walk is unreal & very cold in the off-season, the weather kept changing & clouds kept shifting across the landscape.

'Sanctum' (2025)
Taken last year when I had an opportunity to get amongst some pretty unreal forests.
They’ve been around for a long time - sheltered by the valley, nurtured by the rain & hidden by the remoteness.
I definitely felt very small, very young & very fortunate walking through the silence radiating from the trees

'Canopy' (2025)
Another Tassie Myrtle pic because why not - I honestly couldn’t get enough of these trees shooting out of the surrounding landscape with their gnarly moss-covered branches

This forest was one of those for sure! The Myrtle Beech (which I think these trees were) live for hundreds of years, & I know the Antarctic Beech can be thousands of years old which is crazy to comprehend

Taken deep inside an ancient Tasmanian forest. After a gruelling hike the night before, we got up & spent a good chunk of the day scouting the area & stumbling into this forest full of mossy beech trees.
I’ve had a Myrtle tree image from Peter Dombrovskis bouncing around in my head for a while, so it felt like a privilege to experience a place like this & capture it in the flesh.

Taken on a trip to Tasmania this year, super deep in the middle of a temperate rainforest. I knew places like that still existed, but nothing really prepares you for actually being there.
It felt very special being a tiny thing surrounded by a mass of very fragile, very long-lived relics of what the earth looked like a long time ago.

Last year, I headed to the Kosciuszko backcountry to push far into areas we’d only seen in the distance or on maps.
After a brutal hike, we set up camp & for the next few days ducked out between rain, crazy winds & fog to scout & take images—this one from a sunset on the mountain’s edge. Only had maybe a minute of good light before it all cloaked the area in darkness.
Tech: 4x focus stacked shots - all f/11, 0.6sec, ISO 100 at 14mm

Australia & snow are two words you wouldn't put together but yep, it snows here!
This image was taken on an Autumn trip to Kosciuszko (Aussie alps). I knew it was going to rain & potentially snow, but not the blizzard-like conditions that hit!
After bunkering down in the tent I popped out to see what had happened…knee deep snow & ice stalactites everywhere!

@trantion it can be a pain! This one ended up having to be manually done but I've found Helicon Focus super helpful (able to focus stack stuff Photoshop can't)

Wow, lots of new followers since yesterday’s #introduction post….welcome! It’s nice to see images get engagement
Here’s a brand new #landscape image ‘Bloom (2024)’ taken in the Kosciuszko NP - it’s an area I really wanted to capture in flower season because the combo of sharp mountains, valleys & flowers is really something - bonus when there were moving clouds creating shifting beams across the scene.
