@VeroniqueB99 very understandable why the matriarch is in charge. Who's going to argue with 5000kg plus, with big teeth and a deceptively friendly looking smile?

Hmm.. If my data is adrift (not clearly in transit) do I have to pay salvage to whoever recovers it (before the pirates, state sponsored or not, get it)?
The right of free passage is one thing. The right to just bob about in the ocean as though it's some sort of "the floor is lava" defence is not so well established. In fact it's established that a vessel is subject to the laws of the country who's flag it flies. Hence flags of convenience and all that but it's not "stateless".

@malwaretech so many any interesting things. The fact captchas have trained people to follow instructions to do arbitrary things.. The immutability of blockchain to keep a malicious resource around "forever". What a combination.
There is one ray of hope in this - using google as an oracle for reversing truncated keccak hashes shows it still returns at least some unsponsored results.

@mattblaze@federate.social normally I'm happy to pay the relevant national or state authority fee anywhere in the world, to counter the harm my being there does to the very environment I'm visiting / to support preservation of natural environments. In the US case, under this administration, I am immediately concerned to know how this payment will be used. I actively do not want to contribute funds to vote buying or turning wilderness into Trump branded theme parks...
