@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange this is plugging holes in the boat as it’s capsizing if you’re talking a reform that would make a reform win less possible, electoral reform to avoid an FPTP situation might help, but if ghouls like reform are still winning the most votes, the UK is still screwed even with proportional representation (but after the tories fumbled everything for years and voters rewarded them for it, and labour doing nothing after that…)

@jyn@tech.lgbt so what i was thinking of is, i noticed a few projects moving away from separate wikis and towards documentation stored in i.e. git, explicitly because of the PR/review workflow, but also because of atomic multi-file commits (currently wiki engines are cvs history for one file at a time). but that wiki workflow is a lot nicer for non-programmers as you know (you know, working wysiwyg, can do it from a browser, etc) i think what'd be interesting is reconciling that workflow with a PR based git workflow. stuff like word has a concept of inline review comments and i.e. track changes, it's "just" a matter of making them work together

@jyn@tech.lgbt sourcehut does the modular components thing i think k, fossil does the everything in repo (but isn’t git compatible) non technical people already kinda do editing from forge web UI in my experience, but wysiwyg would make that better. the problem is reconciling that sort of office/gdocs workflow with git commits, especially when it spans multiple files/wanting to build a usable PR

@thephd dumb Q: does GCC also have _CPPFLAGS for the stages environment variables? i usually use that for building usually since it gets plastered for both CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS, but because it’s intended for preprocessor flags it might apply where you don’t want it
