@munin@infosec.exchange @remotenemesis@hackers.town the only way to do this such that an agency couldn’t just easily remove the concepts is to use license terms. I see two ways to do that Make a non-open-source license, restrict use by any org with an anti-DEI stance. This does create some new problems, but is likely to be effective Make a license that requires any use or distribution (AGPL-style) to include the “STATEMENT_OF_VALUES.md” file, which contains a statement in support of diversity. I favor (2), because it keeps it open-source. You can’t stop the government from ignoring the license, but you could at least make it so they’d be breaking the law to use it.

@feld@friedcheese.us @shanselman@hachyderm.io thanks! So he wrote some stuff here and there for Zip2, but it was mostly pretty bad and seems to have been completely replaced before the sale to Compaq. I didn’t know this and I’m always glad to round out my knowledge The top claim was he wrote stuff that became part of PayPal, though, and I don’t think any of the Zip2 stuff did that? AFAIK, Musk was not a technical contributor to the “X.com” that PayPal bought.

@feld@friedcheese.us is it? It’s well-documented that Elon funded and ran a company that he sold to PayPal, certainly. I haven’t found any documentation that said that Elon contributed technically to that company. Source? @shanselman@hachyderm.io

@leif_oke@techhub.social @lambda@chaosfurs.social @TechConnectify@mas.to the inverter is a separate piece, so it’s easy enough to get the appropriate .eu model that will convert vehicle DC to 220/240 with the correct receptacle None of the bits are particularly new tech, it’s just the battery capacity is so large now that it’s a sensible thing to implement

@lambda@chaosfurs.social @TechConnectify@mas.to external vehicle to load (V2L) adapter; it uses the EV charging point through an inverter to provide single-phase ~110V AC. This is becoming standard for EVs now
