The very last bug we shot this Sunday was a blue bee that fussed as it flew about a tangle of twigs by the edge of a forest overlooking a car park and reservoir. It was still early, barely past three, but the rain had poured in lukewarm patches and drenched our appetite for a longer stroll along the slope. The bee was likewise calling it a day, returning again and again to clamp its jaws on one particular branch that would serve as its roost till the day breaks and mourns.
