Was a bit sad to be knocked back on the first funding application I submitted.
Perhaps there will be folks who can help by contributing a little each month? $10 a month is less than a cup of coffee.

I’ve been trying to find an #internal #documentation tool that @oaf@social.oaf.org.au can use for nearly half a year now. I have been looking at (and am really eager) to try slab.com - but I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone either via their LiveChat or via email.
Shouting out into the Fediverse - does anyone know how to connect with the folks at #slab, or if they are still operational? If not, can you suggest any alternatives?

Has anyone had any experience with #Odoo (https://www.odoo.com) in Australia at all? Trying to see if it’s worth consolidating a number of functions (timesheets, HRIS, CRM/donor management and knowledge management) into a single platform.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au yep, I see the problem - I’m rebuilding the database again as it appears to have failed last night - ETA 3 hours 😭 (it’s been going for 3 hours at this point)

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au looks like it’s working now ;)

Do you know anyone with fundraising experience who would be willing to donate their time?
If so, put them in touch with me!

@gusseting@mastodon.social @kattekrab@aus.social interesting perspective. I’m drafting an AI policy at the moment to govern how it’s used at @oaf@social.oaf.org.au - balancing the potential benefits with the obvious risks/downsides.
From a practical level, what’s the alternative? I was looking at GitLab as a possible option but so many of our services assume GitHub.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au @kattekrab@aus.social They Vote for You focuses on the voting record so you can compare what a politician says with what what they posted.
Creating a policy is possible via the site, but appears to be restricted to OAF staff. I’ll get our resident TVFY champion to see if we can create a Gaza ceasefire policy.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au @kattekrab@aus.social The requirement to have a formal vote (known as a “Division”) is set in the Standing Orders - all that needs to happen is for our elected representatives to change the Standing Orders.
As for what you can do - make your voice heard (and encourage others to make their voices heard). Highlight that you can’t support a politician when you don’t know their full voting record.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au @kattekrab@aus.social personally I think the bigger issue is that a major majority of things that go through the parliament don’t have a voting record.
One of the most significant cases in recent memory would have to be marriage equality. There is no official record of that final vote as they didn’t need to count those in favour/those against.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au @kattekrab@aus.social @everythingopen@fosstodon.org No coding required - it’s all done on the site….
That said, it’s currently not working for my (normal) account. I’ve asked the team for more info.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au @kattekrab@aus.social I know that AMPLIFY used AI to read OpenAustralia.org.au to identify what people are saying in parliament (https://www.amplifyaus.org/our-work/housemonitor) - we supplied the raw data that they used to reach their conclusions.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au @kattekrab@aus.social that usually happens when a politician hasn’t voted in the divisions that are linked to a policy.

@gusseting@mastodon.social @oaf@social.oaf.org.au @kattekrab@aus.social TVFY will never be able to tell the full story because of a fatal flaw in how voting happens in parliament - We wrote a piece on this during the last election (the allegation was different but the root problem is the same): https://oaf.org.au/2025/04/25/do-the-teal-independents-always-vote-with-the-greens/
TLDR: Most votes occur “on the voices”, which means a record isn’t kept of who voted yes or no.

So it looks like @UberEng@twitter.com have added code for CarPlay into the app, but haven’t fully finished implementation. Result = a Map on my car dashboard that does literally nothing. @Uber_Support@twitter.com know nothing about it.
