@wonka@chaos.social @Strandjunker@mstdn.social I agree - I have maintained for a long time now that if there were a real political will to solve a problem it would be solved.
However once solved it’s one less thing politicians can get people angry about - and they need people to be angry.

@theplaguedoc@glitterkitten.co.uk but you do know that tomorrow is the day the election observer group Democracy Volunteers will allege “family voting” in each area where Reform UK Ltd doesn’t win the seat?

@JugglingWithEggs@mstdn.social sad thing is you and I both know the inevitable proliferation of Reform councils after Thursday will be an absolute disaster for those who vote them in (and those that don’t) but even then they’ll not acknowledge the disaster.
It’s like an internal Brexit.

Sunday 3rd - been waiting for this for so long (about 40 years - a long story) going to see Jethro Tull in concert, it’s a biggie for me.
Best thing is daughter is coming with me - she’s 23 but really likes Ian Anderson, she’s a flautist who’s learned many of his techniques (much to my pride and pleasure). It’s going to be a great night.

@MarkHoltom but luckily for us, here in England we have a really tough regulator to make sure these companies don’t get away with this kind of profiteering and piracy - said nobody.
And they are about 70% foreign owned (come on Farridge, Poxley Lemmon and other gammons - protest that) so it’s reassuring I. This unstable warmongering world to know that our infrastructure is in safe hands.

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us @openDemocracy@newsie.social so they could possibly manipulate the regulations and legislation to suit their former employers.
Heaven forbid our sponsored MPs would allow this to happen!

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us Shows Rodney has no care for the users of the NHS who, in time, will benefit from the extra training posts and, more immediately, will benefit from a settled workforce.
It’s almost as if the sponsors are seeking payback on their investment in senior Labour MPs
