I think “I may be an industry junior, but I have a proven track record of delivering working software and self-discipline, motivation and project management skills to do so” is a good selling point to a lot of companies

@danluu I think it may also be that quality is dragged down by nondev contributors who effectively prototype, but because result is prod-shaped, it goes to prod. I wonder how that will develop going forward

@danluu I think we may rebound re: quality, but right now we’re just accelerating that software path dependence.
LLMs were (in most orgs imho) introduced top down and need ROI, EMs are measuring easy thing which is tokens and features. Quality is still as hard to quantify as ever and bugs are still culturally hard for orgs to manage, so…it will just take some time.

You’re obviously not a man unless you can rebuild the car engine yourself, from raw materials.
And as a lady you can obviously never properly know anything about cars, but you should show continuous gratitude for allowing you to drive it
