They should've used the device's secure element instead. I need dev options for accessibility tweaks, and other technical stuff like automation, #Termux, and to bypass the upcoming "developer verification" crap. Meanwhile, both a universal #Morphe patch, and the "Geto" app bypass this. Gotta love #SecurityByObscurity

You shouldn't need a dedicated app to access a bank account, you should only need a good web browser. Any bank that doesn't have a webpage for this is already knee deep in some serious #accessibility issues: Too poor for a phone? no banking. Can't see? Obfuscated banking app breaks screen reader. Old or unsupported OS? Tough luck. This artificial exclusion should be illegal.

(Putin) I remember when these kinds of words meant something. I don't want to be defamed as the same maniacs who wants me dead, just for simply having a recording app on my phone.

@space_environmentalism@mastodon.social In the case of a constellation of smaller AI satellites, it will be impossible. AI clusters require ultra low latency, and ultra stable interconnects, and a satellite mesh network with multiple orbits will have latency spikes as sats pass each other. Not to mention the latency being limited by the speed of light itself. Not even Starlink can save them, as the bandwidth capacity of each of these interconnects also has to be rather high, as in at least 50Gbps high.

@space_environmentalism@mastodon.social If AI loves water so much, then why don't they build them underground beneath the water table, or underwater beneath lakes and oceans? There is no water in space, and the vacuum of space functions as an ideal heat insulator. The ISS requires massive radiators about as large as it's solar panels, just to keep it's internals and crew from melting. Even the solar panels would have to be colossal to power such a space-based data center, as in multiple rugby fields of area.

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social Yes. I have a Nepenthes-py tarpit on my site, and "Amazonbot" was one of the user agents that showed up in the metrics. I verified their origin by the WHOIS of their addresses. Their official excuse is the training LLMs for their Alexa assistant. I also found other dodgy things, like "meta-externalagent" IPs originating not only from Meta, but from Meta-owned IPs in Dublin, Ireland of all places. How 'American' of them... 🤔

@drwhax@infosec.exchange This may be one of the only niche use cases where LLM technology may actually be useful, and it may be what Linus Torvalds was talking about when it comes to AI and the Linux kernel. Directly deploying AI code in the kernel could violate the GPL. But as for auditing existing code for potential vulnerabilities, and the pen-testing stuff, this may be a viable use case. But that's not what the AI companies promote. They promote the AI-powered shovelware development use case instead.

@burnoutqueen@todon.nl Speaking of lack of consent, this is what these stupid #clanker #AI companies have been doing to my server for the past month. (requests per minute, this chart hasn't changed much) They are wasting my small web server's bandwidth. I have to rate limit it to prevent them DDoSing it. Meta's bots have been scraping from IP addresses that are located in Dublin, Ireland. (according to WHOIS lookup) How "American" of them... GPTBot sucks too, it doesn't even acknowledge robots.txt!

@Tutanota@mastodon.social ID verification via "short video selfies" is stupid, and is now ineffective at it's advertised purpose. It implies that realtime deepfake technology doesn't already exist, SMH... Run a realtime webcam deepfake on a good gaming computer setup, point the phone camera at the screen, and this 'verification' implementation is cooked... This is probably a coverup for yet another data collection scheme. Facebook/Meta is known for those. (remember that "Onavo Protect" app?)
