By the end of the year, the web is going to be a very different place if Google continue their planned AI rollout.
So many sites will end up shutting as Google has historically been the source of most traffic.
Others will pivot even further to content slop and spam Reddit, plenty already have.
Apocalyptic stuff.
I remember when I was a kid, living with my dad we had basically no money. I needed new clothes, and my dad mentioned to his Fiancée he was going to buy me some.
Later, when my dad wasn't around, his Fiancée abusively screamed and shouted at me because I was getting new clothes and she wasn't.
Today I took the bonus daughter shopping for new shoes and clothes she needed, because I offered.
Ensuring in some way I break the cycle of terrible people. Be better than those that came before.
While some publishers still completely ignore @gamingonlinux@mastodon.social, it’s pleasing to see we have such a vibrant community.
While other sites I see get almost no comments on any articles, we get lots! We may not be IGN or PC Gamer, but we do have a decent sized community that are actually active.
Gosh this whole AI shite is doing my head in.

Not everyone can read every single source of every bit of news - so how do you find these things? News tips from news sites.
People are stupid.
