Today in Amman we expect 22 - 34°C. Ok, it's end of July and this is not much above normal, if I'm not mistaken. It might stay like this for some time, but mostly I think we are well equipped to deal with this type of temperature. For anybody working outside it is a lot - fortunately many companies change working hours; street cleaners work morning and evening, with a long brake during the hot time. Some building companies let their employees just work at night

@patric@gruene.social Mir ist ohnehin unverständlich, wie in Deutschland öffentliche Körperschaften verlangen können, dass jemand zur Erlangung von Informationen einen dieser kommerziellen Anbieter benutzen muss. Ebenso wie ich nicht verstehe, dass es überhaupt geduldet wird, dass man für ein Smartphone (wenn man nicht wirklich technische Extras selbst machen will/kann) mit Google oder Apple arbeiten muss - kann da nichts über Kartellrecht gemacht werden? @ulrichkelber@bonn.social

She is now named Susu. She has a strong voice and started eating quite happily, but we got the impression that she was used more to chicken and cheese instead of cat food. Meanwhile she accepts wet food and just today she was hungry en ugh to take some kibbles. She is lively and runs through the garden, I hope I will soon see her playing with the older kitten.
She found a nice, cuddly place:

Then, last week, as usual early one morning when coming from prayer my husband found this one (also needs a better pic), and seeing her broke my heart: another little Zatma. She has not been well the last day and nearly won a visit with the vet today, but maybe she heared about that and decided rather to start eating again. Just now she followed me here and there in the garden.

Looks like I did not update our catnews since long time. Some weeks ago our DIL came, nearly crying: she had seen a very sweet kitten in the pet shop and it was not well and might die! The owner threw it in her arms and as her own cats would not accept it the little one landed here and developed into a cute little gangster. We called him Fufu after finding out it was probably a boy. He is a spoiled little sweety:

Wäre ich Mieter und hätte die Abschläge an den Vermieter gezahlt, der diese nicht weiterleitete, würde ich a) mit den Versorgern reden, b) Strafanzeige wegen Unterschlagung erstatten. Dann Einschreiben/Rückschein an Vermieter: Miete wird einbehalten, bis die unterschlagenen Summen gedeckt sind.
Enteignen ist eine nette Idee, aber bei derzeitiger Rechtslage eher nicht möglich und im Zweifelsfall zu langwierig.

@freistern@troet.cafe Meins war eine Art "Landgymnasium" - und eigentlich modern. Aber über die Versetzung gewisser Lehrkräfte dorthin entschied das Schulamt, denke ich. Gruselkabinett, teilweise - dann, plötzlich, engagierte, eher linke Lehrer, weil wir Modellschule wurden.

Etwas südlich von Gö war zwar rotes Hessen, aber an der Schule Altnazis als Lehrer, und etliche Schüler, die Hitlergruß cool fanden und bei Polizei und Militär landeten. Linke Lehrer hatten quasi Dauertermin beim Chef, weil Eltern sich über zu links beschwerten (SPD! nein, wie grässlich).
Und ab 1980 ging's steil bergab: ein Wahlkampf mit "Das Boot ist voll". Nein, bei mir war es lange vor den Baseballschlägerjahren.

But I beg everybody not to report Gaza accounts - often this is the only helpline left for them. If they loose their account it creates more problems. Most of them are getting desperate - since the so called cease fire donations have dried up but the amount of help getting into Gaza is minimal and the commercial goods Israel allows in are extremely expensive.

Um diese Menschen abschieben zu können, müssen Gerichte jeweils eine Anerkennung als Asylberechtigt abgelehent oder zumindest eine Gefährdung bei Abschiebung verneint haben. Sprich: da sind noch viel mehr Deutsche beteiligt (was Dobrindt keinesfalls entschuldigt), nicht zuletzt jeder, der sie abholt, fesselt, in den Flieger setzt - und den Flieger fliegt.
