After all, consensual surrogates are often (usually?) compensated (and for good reason!). We know how dangerous pregnancy can be. How do you feel about organ “donation” being compensated (ie legalized organ selling)? It’s *barely* removed from that.

I wonder how much youtube sponsorships has slowed the advocation of open source CAD and open source 3D printers. Every 3D printing youtuber is pushing OnShape or Bambulabs.
Wait. I think I figured out how to 3D print an entire 3D printer (not counting the extruder or electronics). No outside screws, bearings, motors, etc, except feedstocks.
I can't find like normal, cheap NEMA 17 Made in USA stepper motors that you can just buy without a quote rigmarole.
Honestly, stepper motors aren't that hard to make. Pretty sure I could design, make, and profitably sell them made in the USA for a price as cheap as the $38 that Prusa sells their OEM ones for (and those are made in China). Cosmetic tradeable items in Steam are so weird to me. I get them for free playing games, and I guess I just don't have to buy games anymore, just need to use the Steam money?

I think I might have invented a topologically weird rocket engine that has drastically lower plumbing distances, a mechanically simple exterior pressure vessel shape (including for the pumps), but is probably totally impractical mechanically (due to the need for an incredibly weird and probably horrible injector, plus strangeness with mechanical parts in the chamber).

@gabipurcaru @paulg I think the huge rush of users in the last few days brought folks who were bringing Twitter-like conversation patterns. Overall, because it’s smaller and feels more private, there’s less mockery to impress your followers and more treating the other user like a real person.
