Growth in homeschooling is a response to “education isn’t working”, but the primary sources of homeschool curriculum skew heavily towards conservative values.
The edtech blowback is moving folks from both sides of the aisle into the “classical schools” community, which also skews heavily towards conservative values. Without other options people will just do what they believe is best for their kids and end up in conservative social circles that will move the needle further to the right.
If the left side of the aisle doesn’t start acknowledging that there is a problem and providing meaningful alternatives to what we are doing now, things are not going to go well. . .
