Welcome to my adventure of figuring out why in the world my #GitHub account was flagged for no apparent reason.
Getting a hold of support already means trading personal information. Great!

I mainly use English, but the occasional boost of German stuff does sometimes manage to creep in.

Meanwhile at Mozilla: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2026/05/behind-the-scenes-hardening-firefox/
I get that Mythos isn't overhyped, I'd just like to point out curl (and Firefox) aren't representative of the average program when it comes to security.

Oh, also, I could imagine you maybe could trick the system into thinking it's seen someone who was never there but your guy fawkes mask idea sounds as if it came from a terrible sci-fi novel.

Avoiding facial recognition is actually pretty easy for a protester. Just cover it. For starters, the AI might not identify your face as a face if you do. You can test your efforts with your phone's camera app, although there's no gurantee another program won't do a better job than it at locating faces. A cover could also cause trouble for the program that analyzes the face to extract usable biometric information.
Just be aware that facial recognition isn't the only way to identify protesters. The shape of your ear, for instance, is unique. Also, the tricks become even less effective if you are detained.

@jay_aytch@hachyderm.io 3D tracking with reflective dots and facial recognition are very, very different things. For starters, facial recognition doesn't care about the position of a face in 3D space and a 3D tracker isn't interested in capturing how the dot looks like. 3D tracking is hardcore maths, facial recognition actually relies on AI to identify where the face even is.

@Bern Does Roblox track active player counts? Because I suspect you're supposed to leave the game running to boost that number. That's way more effective than normal botting because your'e using perfectly legitimate accounts and probably don't break any terms of service agreements.

@TheEffekt@indieweb.social @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org Dev Edition is, at the moment, just Firefox Nightly (although it may recive dev-focused updates earlier when those are available). @firefoxwebdevs@mastodon.social has a Q&A style thread started with clarifying how there is going to be a “kill switch” — not just for Dev Edition, but for Firefox in general.
