It feels like I will never accomplish my goals of producing open source desktop software because cross-platform GUI libraries suck, especially if you're not in C++ or Python. WX? Python or C++, pal. GTK? Better be ready to disable GStreamer, then set up more environment variables than a DOS programmer in the 90s. QT? You must choose, but choose wisely. I.E. QT Widgets, not QT Quick, and pray to god that you remember to make sure each of your widgets inherits from QAccessible.

Note to WSL users: please make sure Windows Hypervisor Platform, Virtual Machine Platform, and WSL are enabled before attempting to use WSL on windows 11, or you will fall down the "why the hell isn't IPV6 working" pipeline. I know, because I just did.

Eww! Pokemon TCG Live installs to your user folder! What kind of screwball app installs there! Not AppData, that's probably worse. But, your actual user folder! C:\Users\\The Pokémon Company\Pokémon Trading Card Game Live! First off, must you include the E acute symbol in Pokémon when Windows pitches a fit that it isn't an ascii file directory? Second, Ew! Did you have to write it *that* way? Maybe I'm just weird, but... Eww!

Just figured more ways to play would be better, especially seeing as two other 8-bit micro emulators (Zesarux and BeebEm) can handle Z-Machine boot disks just fine, probably because there's no requirement to emulate a screen reader or a speech synthesizer. Also, anyone want to try taking a gander on making an accessible C64 emulator, please and thank you?

A curious question to blind Apple II fans, including jaybird110127@dragonscave.space. I would ask on the list, but I'm not subscribed and I can't remember my groups.io password. In any case, has anyone figured out a way to play Z-Code games (either by Infocom or written using Inform 6 W/ PunyInform) using the latest mame apple package? I heard from somewhere that most Inform games released on the Apple were intended to be booted standalone, I.E. outside of a DOS environment.
