( @florianjug@mastodon.online): A #DeepLearning-based framework #MicroSplit for #FluorescenceMicroscopy that separates highly overlapping #fluorophore signals directly from multiplexed #ImagingData. Improves signal separation, reduces crosstalk, & enables more accurate multi-channel #imaging w/o requiring extensive reference measurements. I didn’t know it before. It's an Xy-pic extension for MathJax 3, so it can be used to draw commutative diagrams. Very useful. I will definitely experiment with this:

#arXiv has announced that, from July 1, 2026, it will become an independent #nonprofit after many years at #CornellUniversity. The stated goals are greater organizational flexibility, faster technological development, broader partnerships, and long-term financial sustainability, while keeping the same mission:

🧠 New paper by Cowley et al: Compact deep neural network models of the #VisualCortex .
The authors show that neural responses in primate visual cortex can be predicted by much smaller, interpretable #DeepNeuralMetworks than previously assumed. By constraining model architecture and parameters, they achieve strong predictive performance while revealing computational structure in cortical processing.
