@futurebird@sauropods.win I had a nest of paper wasps next to my door last summer. They left me alone until I stared at the nest for too long. Not from close up mind you. I swear they knew that I knew where the nest was and they didn't like it.
This month turned out to be more music heavy than usual.

@thomholwerda I've been thinking about this question for a while, I even started writing a blog post about it. I've started by cracking open my old books and trying to find instances of people talking about programming as a joyous, fulfilling, or even enlightening experience.

@annaecook from where I stand I see a bunch of ND people who found something they were good at, one thing they could do in this chaotic world and have a life, and AI is taking that thing away from them. So in addition to all that stuff you said, he's also just plain wrong.

@geoffreyfowler @washingtonpost they used Turnitin back when I was in HS, I remember it flagging random sentences I'd written as some percentage plagiarized. From what? It wouldn't say, if memory serves. I was instructed to rephrase them.
But what struck me was that the EULA said they could do essentially whatever they wanted with submitted essays. Wonder how many made it into ChatGPT's dataset...
