Did you know that many tape measures come with the length of the body printed on it? It's more accurate to use that length rather than bending the tape to fit in a corner and guessing what the length is.

@mountainwitch@kolektiva.social I really think that a support person should also get meals. Or at least have the option to pay for meals. I ate Subway for three meals in a row when my son was born 😕 and definitely would have preferred hospital food.

My reputation at work for being prepper adjacent (amateur radio, hiking, foraging) was not helped when I demolished everyone at tactical laser tag. 9:1 kill death ratio in one round. Super fun though! Realistic M4 rifles with CO2 cartridges for the firing effects.

Added a new git alias to my config:

mine = "!base=$(git log --perl-regexp --author=\"^(?!$(git config user.name))\" -1 --format=%H); git diff \"$@\" \"$base\""

So often I'm working on a local branch and want to see my recent commits. This saves me looking at git log and manually copying the SHA.

Is there a better way to do it?

So, the thought occurred to me today, Wreck Beach at UBC is part of Pacific Spirit Park, which is a #ParksOnTheAir park. That means that you could activate the park while completely nude. NPOTA!

Well, a bit of an issue getting internet to the house. The Telus tech came by, discovered there isn't room for me at the distribution box(?) because all of the existing spots have customers assigned. So they're going to do something (pull fiber?) to make room for me. An estimated two weeks until that's ready! 😠
