The best time to have shut this shit down was 10 years ago or more. Now there's a whole cabal of traditional and social media companies that at best, sanewash or dismiss the lies, and at worst are entirely complicent.

I also had to deal with the LLM faking portions of the output data. I had to hold its hand and check the work every step of the way. When I finally submitted it for review no one wanted to look at it. And those that did complained about the terrible code quality.

I'm sure the rules are being mined for their usefulness also. No one talks seriously about the need to maintain the overly verbose code that is produced. It takes much longer for a human to review. Sure you can use AI for reviews, but at that point we've completely lost control of the code

@jwz@mastodon.social My work is "gently prodding" us to use LLMs for development because of some illusion of productivity and a fear of being left behind. I've done some experimenting with it, but I feel so disconnected from the "work" that it produces. "AI" removes humanity out of everything it touches. It's no wonder the oligarchs and fascists are flocking to it.
