I can think of only 2 reasons why an old rope is there:
Leaving a kind of "community rope" for others to use is brought to you by the same people who wave at you to go when they have the right of way.

Whenever I see pro baseball teams burning through hundreds of balls, I will always think of this shot of a baseball factory, where hundreds of people sew baseballs by hand. wow.

Went out the back door last night and smelled a skunk, obviously very nearby. This morning my entire healthy clump of chives had been eaten to the quick. Fragrant food for a fragrant critter, apparently.

ok, I am now convinced that everybody who recommended mint/cinnamon to me as a "minimalist linux" does not know what "minimalist" means.

@racingdaily@mastodon.social "Make offer" is hardly ever used, even though it's usually the best way to get good prices. I'll make lowball offers—what's the worst that could happen? And I've given people crazy good deals by accepting them, too.

Bought a 4yo Lenovo Yoga7 to use as my first real linux box, installed mint and works fine but is certainly a bit fiddly compared to a mac. But what is this 6gb "available RAM" when I'm supposed to have 8? ah, it is the bios, grasshoppah. And why is the trackpad cursor always jumping around? Questionable touchscreen implementation for the "also a tablet" functionality of the Yoga. Not sure if this is a good machine as yet. We'll see if Reaper audio works...
