#WordWeavers 28th February: Would you like to meet any of your characters? Would you tell them who you are?

Ooh, that's such a good question to end the month on! I'd probably want to meet most of my OCs (Apart from Wells but that's just because I'd worry about throwing up due to seasickness - I'd want to meet him on sturdy land), but me telling them who I was would heavily depend on the OC.

In ascending order, going from "not if I value my existence" to "yeah, sure":

Lavinia, Morwyn, Ember, Ophelia, Wells, Bryony, Callie, Soraya.

Lavinia would kill me (or Seraphine would on their behalf), Morwyn would kill me but then feel really bad about it, Ember would be pissed but wouldn't kill me, same with Ophelia but I'd just feel horrible telling her that I caused her trauma, Wells would be pissed but reassured that he doesn't have to deal with his fate yet, Bryony would be pleased that I got her a partner AND a cool friend group, and then Callie and Soraya would just be chill abt it (either that or they'd be busy dealing with Jamie, Malcolm or both of them screaming at someone)

Okay so I've read Chapter 16 of @floofpaldi@mindly.social's amazing story "Wings of Quiet Longing" and here are my thoughts whilst reading:

- Eleanor my beloved, GET DUNCAN'S ASS!
- Alastair I love you so much for that reaction.
- OH MY GOSH ANNA
- "allowing that bast... that man to think we're back together again" - Alastair you can call him a bastard, we'd all enjoy it.
- Sissy saw Fenella and Alastair kiss the first time? Wow, love that!
- "Old friends don't look at each other the way you do." - DAMN RIGHT. Eleanor just wants them to get on with it.
- "You were inconsolable when she left, and as miserable as could be." - aww, Alastair-
- Eleanor wants him to confess to Fenella, Alastair wants Eleanor and Jon to get married, they both want each other to be happy and in love, I adore that.
- Alastair being out in the sun again and not feeling scared, wooh!
- Jonathan and Eleanor act like an old married couple, and they really should make that marriage bit official.
- AHHHH THEY KISSED AND THEY'RE SO HAPPY
- YESSSSS SUCCESSFUL PROPOSAL!!!
- Anna I love you so much-

Panda that was an incredible chapter as always! And we're getting a set up to the séance with Hati, Sam, Fenella and Alastair, wooooooh!
(Also I really needed some joy, progress exams in college have been kicking my ass, so thank you also for that too <3)

#PennedPossibilities Share three facts about a favourite SC with us!

Okay, so I'm gonna go with 3 things about one of Ophelia's favourite human friends (apart from Bill Potts and Heather, she loves Bill and Heather a lot), Lauren!

- Lauren was the first person to talk to Ophelia once she woke up on Earth for the first time. She actually suggested the name Ophelia in the first place after the young gallifreyan realised she didn't know her own name.

- She's a therapist at the school close by to where Ophelia resided for the first 2 years of being on Earth (before she left for Bristol to find the Doctor), and so Oppy would end up with her, Wren, Jacob or Violet during the day.

- Role in Ophelia's story aside, she adores crocheting things for and with her friends, and often teaches it to students who have trouble focusing in lessons.

Two extra things:

1. Thank you @floofpaldi@mindly.social for considering me as one of your soul sisters, I saw the mention and I was really happy!

2. I think tomorrow's my 1 year anniversary of joining Tumblr. That'll be a fun post to make. :D

#PennedPossibilities 885 - How would your MC react to an unwanted romantic or sexual advance?

Callie would say no, and then if they continue then they'd be getting a very strongly-decided on word thrown figuratively on them.

Bryony would say that she's already married, and then if they continue then she'd punch them. (She is very well trained in getting people to leave her the hell alone. Years of espionage will do that to you.)

#PennedPossibilities 881 - Reveal a fact about your MC that only a few people know.

I think only a few people know this but makes sense given the holiday season: Ophelia used to have a teddy bear when she was still on Gallifrey. She ended up losing it when she was taken and memory-wiped.

Morwyn ended up somehow getting it back whilst Oppy and the rest of the crew (Twelve, Missy, Bill, Nardole and River) were out at Build-A-Bear getting her and themselves some plushes of their own.

Soooo I wrote the war poetry I was mentioning a few days back.

The soldiers came home today, Mum.

But knowing what was lost

Amongst the joy and tears, I wonder,

What was worth this cost?

The Smith family's kid, Tyler

Once full of glee and so many delights.

I swear to you Mum, you could see in his eyes,

A horror that's gonna cost him so many nights.

Remember Mr Jones, the father to Ada,

Who screamed that he would miss her?

Now he's limp, darkened hair 'round his chin

And I fear his friend's now the sweet liqueur.

Your cousin, he's lost his head, in a way.

The Captain said Nick'll be fine

But Mum, I know what they really say.

He'll be gone from us for the rest of time.

And…oh, darling Victor, the best friend I knew,

So charming, so lovely and fun.

Now he's lost his legs, his…everything.

To what he- to what they've gone though.

Mum, I pray we never return to the gun.

All the men I saw march today, Mum.

They're all broken, and I want to bawl.

If this is what victory is going to look like,

Then I don't want it at all.

Hiya! Wanna gauge people's thoughts on this idea I'm planning to write something on-

So last night I was reading the souvenir guidebook for this museum called Imperial War Museum North in Manchester. As you do on a Saturday night.

And I read this bit that absolutely fascinated me.

Despite the people involved in WW1 being called the "Lost Generation", 88% of men who had left England for war came back home.

So it ended up making my brain ponder 'so if the majority of men came back, why are they still considered "lost" in the view of society?'

And now I have THOUGHTS. Thoughts that may transpire into poetry. Because why not.

#PennedPossibilities 878 - How would your MC react in a crisis or emergency situation?

Morwyn's good, but it depends on the situation.
Ophelia's the same but it also depends on how many metaphorical spoons she has at that point (I really hope someone else gets that metaphor)

Callie's horrible in a crisis but will never show it until she's back at home.
Soraya on the other hand is brilliant, and is often the voice of reason alongside Sam. (If either of them aren't there then voice of reason status goes to Julius)

Due to their roles, Bryony and Wells HAVE to be good in a crisis. And they are for the most part, but Bryony hides whenever she isn't with charm or sass.

Finally, Lavinia's like Morwyn, it definitely depends on the occasion but they're a lot more calm if they know that Seraphine can back them up if needs be.

For Ophelia, it's that she's nice to everyone she meets, although she can also be a little bit of an oddball too.
Definitely can be seen when she's heading in to see if she can find the Doctor, talking to Nardole for the first time and then eventually going into the TARDIS.
