it took me until today to realize that 1280 and 1920 are exactly 2x and 3x 640. Pixels that is. it's just the standard res horizontal image with multipled. how did i not realize that before?

TIL that a wildcard certificate does *not* cover nested subdomains.

So a cert for *.arios.space is valid for bird.arios.apce, but *not* nest.bird.arios.space.

... but why? That's how DNS works after all!

Super inconvenient from an infra perspective since now i need special certificates for some services...

also been trying out Zed as a replacement for VSCode and so far its been pretty good. Not super happy about them pitching it as a "collaborative editor between humans and """AI"""", but credit where it's due, all the LLM/Agent features can be completely toggled with a single setting switch, and they actually vanish after that! Not like VSCode is doing any better here sadly... The UI itself feels super snappy and all the features I need are there yay Obviously not as many extensions as VSCode yet, but quite a lot of stuff (such as Error Lens) is built-in, I haven't really been missing much.

I mainly used Codeberg as an external mirror here, something that I can rely upon for bootstrapping if i fuck up my configuration. I'm now pushing the repo on Codeberg to my internal Forgejo instance and am sourcing that in Argo. All the errors went away immediately, so that's good. Still not sure how that was enough to get me IP-banned though, that's rough...

So apparently ArgoCD refreshing all of my apps at once (about 50) from my git repo hosted at codeberg.org ... creates enough SSH connections that my IP gets temp-banned.

Ouch

And I only didn't notice because my other devices are all on IPv6 so they have their own IP addresses? If I force IPv4 for the SSH clone the connection gets killed/never establishes.

Anyone has any experience with throttling ArgoCD git/ssh connections?

@Melody @chirpbirb ow, yeah that's very understandable. I work in infra/hosting so I understand why many sites employ it now (the "AI" induced scraper traffic is *insane* nowadays), but it sucks that regular users are affected negatively by it too
