There's something special to having a lot of the management worried about how the two months I'm missing will go for them. We've trained up all the folk we could, figured out a couple successors to pass things off to, got the area started a new workflow that I'd been working on making reality for years, and now we don't get to see how it handles in implementation. Guess this forces me to learn to be wings-off of my work.
The real reason they're worried is I have one of the biggest slices of the job, and no one (nor several someones) there can easily fill what we do. They'll be fine, the place existed before me and will after we leave someday too.
But also, since I started working jobs 20ish years ago, I've never been free from work for more than two weeks. Two months of not working is going to be heccing weird.
