YouTube creators be like "What if I took this health trend that is going on right now and cranked it up to the extreme, punish my body for 24 hours to a month and then ramble about why it's probably not good for you to do this thing!" This post brought to you by videos like: - I did 100,000 steps in a day, my body hurts - I only ate "protein" junk food for 100 hours - Video of someone trying to force their body into ketosis and nearly causing themselves refeeding syndro...

Some of y’all on here are really driving me nuts with the constant LLM related doomer posting If you love making things, continue making them, find people who also love making things and share your views, be the change you wanna see Doomer posting endlessly does nothing productive except cause a death spiral as you demotivate yourself from doing things by endlessly questioning “what’s the point” There is no point, and there never was Just Do Things You Enjoy

Okay, Fedi people, what is your go-to RSS client/tool? Local, self-hosted web solution, anything related to RSS. Additionally, what kind of stuff do you put on your RSS feed? Asking as someone who's never actually utilized RSS for more than a week and is tired of the fatigue of algorithms, and just wants to set up feeds for things I'm actually interested in from sources I actually care about.

I love the Playstation 2. It's far from a perfect console, even softmodded, but it's definitely one of my favorites. Getting to play some of my favorite games off a memory card with an SD card in it is awesome enough, but the fact that I can load some PS1 games through a semi-official emulator (community enhanced version of Sony's POPS emulator) until I can afford to get my PS1 fixed is sick as hell! That said, the PS2 has a banging library and even if you never touch a PS1 game wit...

As I wait the next ~9 hours for the Steam Controller to be available to buy, I think back on the OG Steam Controller and how ahead of its time it was. It took over a decade for us to get a successor, and while the successor is WAY more advanced it also lacks a few things in the original: The trackpad centric design, while polarizing, was something I absolutely loved. Yeah, the new controller has trackpads but they're smaller and shoved towards the middle. I can imagine my hands getting way...

I’m really enjoying dot hack infection, but damn its no wonder this game is so obscure. Not only is the game from 2002 and based on the idea of a VR MMO, but its community that exists is extremely off-putting in the sense that they insist you HAVE to play specific ways and use specific items. I’m only about 3 hours into the game but already I’m getting a feel for the gameplay loop, and quite enjoying it. But if you look at how I’m playing vs how the average dot hack player says to play, you’d th...

"The code is open source, are you not competent enough to read it yourself and evaluate its safety?" This person does not realize that 99.99% of users do not program, and have to go on trust authored by other people. Very few people actually evaluate the code of every piece of software going on their system, if you share the opening sentiment of this post you are dead wrong about basically all PC users.
