  we're of course aggressively censorious shits here: we've defederated from at least six hundred instances in nearly four years of running circumstances. most of them are nazi or nazi-adjacent, some are pure terfery, and a two or three dozen either are openly supportive for pedophilia or at some point distributed csam. a lot of these domains is probably not functional anymore, but i never got to checking them back; it doesn't cost us anything to keep them on file.

  RE: https://circumstances.run/@mawhrin/116522461885845779 tl;dr: 'tis done. i ran a live migration in proxmox again after hetzner support replaced the cable, and it finished after fourteen hours – so ultimately it was a cable problem (and a source of various hard-to-explain-otherwise hiccups). also, proxmox is quite polished, and does the work. mastodon is now running entirely off the nvme storage, which should give it a nice boost (it might not feel faster, but it should feel more smooth...
