  I just saw deltesian kinematics for #3DPrinting and I'm torn on whether it's in any way a halfway decent idea. It all the disadvantages of bed slinging, but it at least retains a rectangular build area, involves fewer belts and bearings than core-XZ, and ditches the heavy X-axis. It makes everything taller, but bed slingers are a pain to enclose anyhow. I almost want to design a conversion from a half-working CR-10 that I have.

  I remember someone on the Fediverse said to stop calling them the Democrat Party because it's a Trump thing and derogatory. If it has to be something Trump wouldn't say, how about they get the epithet of "the MOP." The "Managed Opposition Party" to match the Republican's epithet of the GOP.

  I got an ad opposing the amendment in #Virginia. The first part is roughly true, the amendment is aimed to gerrymander the state (in response to Republican gerrymandering elsewhere).   I finished reading James Stout's Against the State and there's a lot to take in there. It is interesting that #3DPrinting as a technology works in practice as part of armament. The FGC-9 in Myanmar as a case study is actually very interesting. The really big advantage seems to be dropping the space, cost, and skill requirements.   The great, intolerable lifestyle changes people cite as necessary to limit climate change always feel anti-climactic to me. Insulate houses better, ride the bus, don't buy so much crap, eat less animal products. The thing is, these are all mostly positive or neutral lifestyle-wise when the infrastructure is there for it.   I have one 3D printer that is actually working, one that I'm waiting on a pair of new linear rods for, two that I'm making custom beds for, and three (!) that are total rebuilds in progress. So, I would have seven printers, each one different from the others. Ugh, mistakes were made.

  Has anyone taken LG's WebOS, which is nominally open source, and used it to down convert old LG smart TVs to being dumb TVs? My TV has been really unreliable and I really suspect that the issue is too much software on bottom of the barrel hardware.

  The product description says all metal hotend. The PTFE tube goes all the way to the top of the nozzle. That's false advertising. The description even claims to support high temperature filament, but the continual clogging when I attempt to print ABS proves otherwise. #3DPrinting

  I'm in the process of making and rebuilding a few 3D printers and I keep having the idea that since it's custom, any non-functional piece could have embellishments added until the printer itself is an art piece. I keep imagining a printer that looks like baroque furniture or a gothic cathedral.

  I decided to save a webpage from the view-source page on Firefox and rather than saving the page I was viewing the source of, it saved the view source page itself. I'm a little stumped on whether that is behavior that makes sense, but it made me laugh once I realized it.

  I'm still fuming about the HOA thinking #Flock surveillance cameras are a good idea. I keep having to write down the many ways in which it is a bad idea.
