I just saw deltesian kinematics for #3DPrinting and I'm torn on whether it's in any way a halfway decent idea. It all the disadvantages of bed slinging, but it at least retains a rectangular build area, involves fewer belts and bearings than core-XZ, and ditches the heavy X-axis. It makes everything taller, but bed slingers are a pain to enclose anyhow. I almost want to design a conversion from a half-working CR-10 that I have.

    @matt5sean3@urusai.social I will however tell you this core XY’s can have closed frame #3dprinting which is more energy efficient & is safer around #cats
