  Apologies screen readers on this one. For the uninitiated, most of my pieces can be viewed in any orientation. Everyone tends to find different things. This one is simple, not as “where’s Waldo” with stuff that shows up. I drew it when we were in Joshua Tree was never got a good picture. One thing a little different is that I traced some shadows from the spiral in my sketchbook, and shadows from a piece of fabric protecting me from the sun in a corner. Broken Stair May-ish 2026

  Remember when AOL and MSN were bitchslapping each other over access to messenger users. I do. I was the tester, sleeping under my desk between “emergency” builds for days. I’m also reminding YOU not to let all these dirty little apps snoop your contacts or at least only let it see a list of people you don’t like anymore or something because it is a huge connecty privacy violation your contact never consented to.   If you think your job is shitty, I had to support WebTV and WebCompanion (I think 300 were sold, I literally suggested we just mail them something better) in the late 90s and early 2ks). There was spaghetti code before there was a rendering architecture. We once got borked (our pages were converted to Swedish Chef) by opera (I think) once. 👨‍🍳 I wrote bucketizer (internal) organizing ua info by capability and supporting a handful of combinations instead of every browser that came out. 🤓

  Who remembers Zune? You may know it as lame Microsoft iPod. I know it as an 80gig paper-weight I only got to work properly once and could never sync right that was given to employees as gifts because consumers were still too smart to buy them back then.
