A friend was struggling with her health, housing and relationship, so came over yesterday. Generally for a bit of respite, to vent, and for various people to help her with next steps. Getting referrals, on housing lists etc... She has three dogs in a flat, and chronic health conditions. So we also did a bit of dog sitting too. They are not really lead trained, and are all a handful as the oldest is only going to be neutered in a couple of weeks. They adore our back garden and playing non-stop, b...

It's a mystery... Cost of living crisis, crippling austerity, a government that hates kids/disabled/immigrant/queer people, no chance of buying a house if you don't already have one, pensions a joke if you are under 50, climate change, rising fascism, wealth inequality off the scale, media and internet controlled by a handful of oligarchs... Nope, cannot think of any reason Wes ๐คฆโโ๏ธ Our mental health should be just tip top... Not linking to anything Wes Streeting writes, it is searchabl...

Stopped by a local bothy this morning. Checked all was OK. Didn't sign the book, but did leave a mark in charcoal, left over from a fire, on the wall โ:anartrans_symbol:โ

Oh the irony of an anarchist system organising various people to make sure they can get to vote tomorrow โ:blobcatgiggle:โ Multiple households, multiple polling locations.... (We only vote on a harm reduction basis, especially keeping fash out in low turnout local affairs where they can sneak in.)

We rather appreciate and respect Esoterica. Have to say, this reinforced that. Looking at AI from all the usual political/social/economic/environmental aspects. But also how it removes the spiritual aspect, devaluing those carefully crafted images/words/sigils and rendering them and the consumer of AI content of the value and twisting the intent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0VZvMmelN4

https://smsk.dev/2026/04/26/ai-cannot-self-improve-and-math-behind-proves-it/ Interesting and not too technical read. Basically the more current "AI" models use their own output to train, or the output of other "AIs", the dumber they get. In order to get better, they NEED human created content.

Last week we sank a steel pole into a friend's garden to help him with getting his antenna in a more suitable place. Dug a metre down and set if in concrete. Told him go leave it alone while it set. Also dug a trench and cemented a horizontal bar in the lawn, running guy wire under it. Covered it back over with the turf to act as a ground anchor. Used two walls and the house to sink anchor bolts into for the other guy lines. This week, we helped him drop it from it's terrible location th...

Life has been "complicated" for a bunch of reasons for a few months. Basically, we have been off the hill for a while. We essentially missed winter, and it was a good one. First time in years our ice axe didn't get used or even carried. But this week, we did a local round twice. Only 10 miles and 1700ft of climbing. So about half of what we would normally do in a day. Once on Monday, once on Friday. So add them together and it would be a proper hill trip, just split with a three d...

#caturday We spotted hobbles a local three legged cat on the shed, and when our wife looked she was like... FIGS OUTSIDE! Second glance was reassuring after we had also done the initial WTF โ:blobcatgiggle:โ A new neighbourhood ginger cat. Very skittish and Laurits, one of ours, chased it out of the garden shortly afterwards. (Fig is an indoor cat who gets garden privileges and we thought had got out unsupervised)

About to transport two cats to their new home on the coast. Our housemate moved out last week and now the flat she has is ready for her cats, it is time to take them there. They are not going to like the hour long drive. But they will adore bring reunited and having new spaces to explore ๐ธ

Two cats now delivered to their new home. They have settled in after exploring the new space. We had a short pause in the journey as one threw up on the other ๐ She got a bit travel sick. But Floki was sitting on her at some points, so he possibly deserved it โ:blobcatgiggle:โ They are now clean and chilling out now though โ:blobcatHappy:โ

Stopped at the beach while we were up at the coast. Young ones wanted a chipper, so we grabbed a few minutes on the sand while they ate. Of course, we had to drive past the Cullen dinosaur โ:blobcatgiggle:โ https://www.northern-scot.co.uk/news/cullen-dinosaur-saved-from-extinction-335952/

Well today was supposed to be a relaxing easy one. One of the young ones came through as we were eating breakfast. The other one was on the phone to her dad. Guy the family cat had gone downhill and was looking like he might either pass or need to go to the vets. Her dad doesn't drive. The cat isn't registered with a vets. So we all pile into the truck to go there. Get there and he has the look. He is not long for this world, having dropped a massive amount of weight over the last few d...

Fuck PinkNews โ:transknife:โ If you are cis and sharing stories from it, kindly reconsider when educated or you are getting blocked. The trans journalist that PinkNews sacked and has some real horror stories about the owners, is calling for a boycott. They are now a journalist free outlet and platforming Wes child killer Streeting.
