  @raccoonformality@tech.lgbt Good plan. Every implementation of AI that currently exists is a raging hot garbage fire. Maybe, MAYBE, there's a theoretical implementation that is not pure, condensed evil, but I have not see it. Hell, I struggle to even imagine what it could be in today's world.

  Ok, fedi, having a bit of a perl problem. Perldoc isn't working. Whenever I search for a module that it can find, it displays a read error. (Modules that it can't find return the expected not found error.) Anyone know how to fix this? Search isn't helping. Coding a perl project is gonna be a bit tough without any documentation. #perl #coding

  I happened to catch part of Terminator II on TV today and I noticed Arnold's heads up display had a counter for human casualties. It read 0.0. Which... how do you have partial casualties? What would 2.5 human casualties even look like?

  I'm packing a bag right now for my trip back tomorrow and as I put a towel in, I am reminded of the advice Douglas Adams gave us so many years ago. To this day, I do not travel without my own towel. Even though there is always, always a towel available wherever I go, should the need arise.   I just installed the latest update for Mastodon, and the process went much smoother on the new server. On the old VPS, I usually had to stop all mastodon processes before attempting the update because rebuilding the assets consumed all available resources, then crashed. That no longer happens. I am a happy mastoadmin :mastogrin:

  @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org I have several things muted. Sometimes because they're annoying, sometimes because while they may be serious, there's nothing I can do about it so it just wears me down. And sometimes a hashtag is so full of scams I can't tell who is legit. That gets muted, too.

  @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org Maybe you can contact that guy and ask. To me, it looks like it was damaged, perhaps during shipping, and the bike store sold it anyway. The fact that the cassette was incorrectly assembled lends some credence to that idea, I think. Then the poor sod who bought it just put in his garage and left it there for forty years. I think I'd try to hammer it out. You can't really make it worse.

  Progress on backups for Darkmoon. I have successfully made backups for both the database and the filesystem using borgmatic and borgbackup. It uses encryption and SSH keys, and can supply those automatically. Running the full backup from scratch takes about an hour and a half. Subsequent backups take about half an hour. I think that is acceptable. Now it's ready for automation.
