@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org Maybe you can contact that guy and ask. To me, it looks like it was damaged, perhaps during shipping, and the bike store sold it anyway. The fact that the cassette was incorrectly assembled lends some credence to that idea, I think. Then the poor sod who bought it just put in his garage and left it there for forty years. I think I'd try to hammer it out. You can't really make it worse.
