RE: https://hachyderm.io/@petrillic/116898568418588894 This seems to be making rounds and for the record, judging from what the article actually says, if MS is to be believed, they're putting LLMs into finding the vulns and making PoCs, not automatically fixing them (although it probably has to be assumed most people there are on some level of Claude brain from LLMs being forced down their throats) - they seem to have enough contract with reality to recognize the idea of unverified fixes as...

A slightly outdated news drop before I continue my thread… Although the first new Pesa Gama 3 bi-mode locomotive is to be delivered to PKP Intercity this autumn, the type won't see revenue service in 2027 - PKPIC is intending to stick to its guns and take it through a series of test drives first, arguing that they cannot afford teething problems of an all-new construction causing disruption for passengers even if it means things fall behind schedule further: https://www.rynek-kolejowy.pl/w...

RE: https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/@stefano/116862122877241583 One of the biggest lies of hosted serivce providers: "if it happens to us, there's nothing anyone could have done about it" Well, they're not immune to not caring, or personnel issues, or whatever. And the difference to your own stuff is, you don't get to decide how the problems get solved (unless you constitute a disproportionately large share of the provider's business, I guess). Polentakt hype intensifies Two weeks after the reveal of the current government's long-term plan for railways (see #ZSKPolska for more on that one), last Monday saw the reveal of a new, more fleshed-out iteration of the Horyzontalny Rozkład Jazdy (Horizon Timetable), the short-term plan for an integrated passenger railway network to be achieved by 2035. It brings major changes to integrate ideas developed since the last iteration of 2024, with a new set of lilac supplemental rychlík lines...

There's quite a bunch of people who'll tell you that Germans are genetically wired to look down on Poles forever, but if that were the case, would they put so much money and time into building a whole-ass S-Bahn to smooth things over whenever our trains get diverted to Gesundbrunnen? /s #rail #bahnbubble

@Sobex@social.sciences.re @rail@social.flufftech.net Nah, taking over all the state-owned companies is not *that* hard. There's plenty enough conservatives in the current coalition, too. Since Poland appears to be in season, a little #PKPIC tip: can't get a seat reservation for a particular domestic long-distance train and absolutely need one? WAIT! There are six (first class if possible) seats on every train that are released only two hours before scheduled departure from the origin station. On night trains running through Warsaw, one sleeper compartment, or else one couchette compartment, is similarly reserved (or possibly even all night trains with this kind of cars,...

So, a little Rynek Kolejowy drop: Koleje Dolnośląskie (Lower Silesian Railways) will take over the remaining Głogów-Zielona Góra trains from Polregio, having previously been given all trains running through from Wrocław. The Zielona Góra-Żary-Węgliniec-Görlitz route will remain with Polregio for the time being despite speculation and the voivodeship's continued disappointment with the company's performance.
