Since Poland appears to be in season, a little #PKPIC tip: can't get a seat reservation for a particular domestic long-distance train and absolutely need one? WAIT! There are six (first class if possible) seats on every train that are released only two hours before scheduled departure from the origin station. On night trains running through Warsaw, one sleeper compartment, or else one couchette compartment, is similarly reserved (or possibly even all night trains with this kind of cars, I seem to recall hearing that they were a bit over-zealous there). #bahnbubble #PKP #railway

This is because of the regulation cited as Dz.U. 2002 nr 1 poz. 13: https://isap.sejm.gov.pl/isap.nsf/DocDetails.xsp?id=WDU20020010013 It requires these seats to be reserved for the use of parlamentarians who might suddenly decide they want to actually use their free travel privilege.
