Hi everyone, I'm just your average former gifted kid trying (and mostly failing) to hold onto my last shred of faith for humanity... As well as my livelihood. I'm addicted to media because skynet is real and its name is youtube, and because Video Games help me cope with my stressful job.

Unapolagetic Linux user. I took the FOSS pill and didn't look back. Fuck you, Microsoft!

I started my Fediverse life on pettingzoo.co, but now I've migrated here because it's closing down.
#ActuallyAutistic

Old profile: https://<span c

So here's a fun fact that I'm delighted to have learned: apparently, there are, like, way more fish in the sea than we thought. Like ridiculously so. Over ten times our estimates in some cases. And giant squid? You have no idea. Just from how frequently any sign of giant squid was discovered anywhere in the world, we assumed they were extremely rare. Turns out no, they're swarming the fuck out of the deep sea and we had no idea for the longest time. So, how did we find this out? Wel...

I'm getting increasingly attached to a silly character concept I came up with off the cuff: a demon (or devil or what have you) bound into service by a poorly-worded contract. Known by such quotes as: "I offered that bastard two wishes. They used the first wish to get a damn good lawyer." "Call me what you will. My contract does not require me to divulge my true name. And if you ask for it, I WILL slap you. Mister Smithson calls me Mendy." "I&...

I have been informed that there exists a variety of tomato that grows extremely small. To the point that each individual tomato is the size of, like, a blueberry. And they're really sweet and tasty, but harvesting them is a pain. I can't help but assume this is how tomatoes used to look before we domesticated them, or at least very close to it. I have no proof, obviously, but it just makes sense that a "wild" tomato would have a much smaller berry, right?

I can't believe I never thought to add peanut butter to my ramen broth before now. This shit slaps so hard. I can't even taste how shitty the Maruchan noodles are. I don't know if I'm going to be able to go back to eating instant ramen without peanut butter, this is so good.

Little caesar's pizza is weird. It's hard to explain what I mean by that. Best I can do is like, I can taste quality, ok? If you give me food, I can savor it, and be like "oh yeah, this is high-quality stuff, they used good ingredients and good technique" or "this is really low quality, like really cheap bottom of the barrel stuff." That in mind: by my measure, the pizza at Little Caesars has no quality to speak of. It doesn't taste *go...

I feel like homebrewed retro games are gonna make a surge. A creation kit for random folks to make their own N64 games got released recently. apparently the same sort of thing exists for gameboy because someone released a gameboy-compatible rom for a fanmade gameboy animal crossing game on itch.io. (link by the way: https://richterwilker.itch.io/animal-forest-gb-folk ) And I'm not even looking for this stuff specifically, it just rolled onto my dash. I just get the feeling this is gonna...

uggghhh just woke up from a nap and I feel so... I dunno, pubby seems an appropriate word I don't wanna get up, I don't wanna go back to work tomorrow, I don't even wanna move. I just wanna curl up on the couch like a pampered kitty and sleep aaaaaaaallllll week, occasionally getting up for a few hours at a time to do some eating or gaming or watching fun things. I hate that I have to spend 40 hours a week doing stressful work... I wish we lived in a more just world where...

I'd like to see a Wreck-It Ralph short where there's some kind of retro celebration at the arcade, so the arcade owner brings in, among other classic rented cabinets, turbotime. And naturally, after being plugged in, Turbo decides to head into the circuit breaker and mingle with the rest of the game characters, who are all absolutely terrified of him because of what the previous Turbo did. I imagine it probably ends with Ralph and Vanillope sitting down and having a pleasant chat...

Why did Bubsy, of all failed attempts to make a new mascot from that time period, stick? Like, I can see why Blinx and Vexx and Awesome Possum and Aero the Acro-Bat and whatnot fell into obscurity, but why out of all those did Bubsy manage to stay relevant? Were sales for the first two Bubsy games just that good? Was it The Room syndrome from Bubsy 3D? Was it something else? Like I'm genuinely confused here. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining; Bubsy 4D looks absolut...

Concept: in this fantasy setting, an adventurer (or adventuring party) hears of a nearby kingdom with a mad king problem, and so resolves to help the people overthrow the mad king. When they arrive at the border, they say they've come to defeat the mad king, but the guard just gives a knowing laugh and lets them past without incident. When they stop for a rest at an inn, they again say they've come to defeat the mad king, but are surprised when this prompts the folks they&#...

That awkward moment when you hear the word "maw" and you can't tell whether it's a southerner trying to get their mother's attention or a furry trying to get their mommy to eat them

Imagine if you will: a modern fantasy setting, wherein a house party in a bougie part of town is about to kick off. Guy in fashionable religious vestments: "Heyoooo! I'm Dalton, I'm a cleric of Bodacious, lord of revelry, and I'm here to make this party ROCK. Fifty gold up front." Party host: "Fifty gold?!?" Dalton, cleric of parties: "Yah dude, the whole reason y'all called me in was to make sure nobody gets hungover....
