@TG_Esq You missed the biggest influence for me: swapping cassettes with friends from school, and copying them at home. Somebody's big brother or sister probably bought an LP which 30 odd kids ended up with a copy of.

@TG_Esq Both cassette and CD bootleg mixtapes. One of the CDs was a collection of some early version of MP3 used as a codec, still with WAV extension, and a player program along with the music files.

@TG_Esq In all honesty mine was reel to reel. My dad had one that I used to play with as a kid. I still have it though it'd be a miracle if it still works.

@TG_Esq @Lazarou It's never just one! For me, LP and 45 (were "always" there since the dawn of history), commercial cassette (entered the scene in early elementary school years), blank cassette/mix tape (started being a thing after puberty hit).

@TG_Esq For me it was CDs and MP3s, often MP3s from Limewire burned onto CDs. Now I just use MP3s and FLACs from Soulseek on my phone

@TG_Esq i dabbled in cassette mixtapes and listened to a lot of CDs, but MP3 file sharing was where i discovered the music that would impact my life the most. therefore i answered Napster (tho really it was mostly Limewire ๐)

@TG_Esq I voted LP as you don't have 1/4" reel to reel tape listed.

@TG_Esq Tapes came before cds, but it was mainly full copied albums, origin unknown. For the poll I chose mixtapes anyway. Then cds, and still cds today. some LPs when it was not yet back in fashion. Apps these days cos my car's at the mechanic's... Napster was kinda fun. Thinking of it it's the reason i first got interested in grindcore actually, It was soooo long i was chosing the shortest songs possible...
