You missed the biggest influence for me: swapping cassettes with friends from school, and copying them at home. Somebody's big brother or sister probably bought an LP which 30 odd kids ended up with a copy of.

@MartinW Oh yes, that does take me back. My friend over the road lent me a blank tape with a Clash album copied on one side (I think it was Give 'Em Enough Rope), and a Jam album on the other. He had copied it from someone at his school. That one tape set me up musically for a lot later in life. This survey could have so many options, if the software allowed it.
