@bugbear@indiepocalypse.social In my case it's just my #HamRadio callsign with .org on the end. (it was in the mid-00s and they didn't have all these new TLDs back then)

@bugbear@indiepocalypse.social I named it after a publishing concern I came up with in highschool that never got off the ground.

@bugbear@indiepocalypse.social Still need to buy a domain for just me but the one I got for my homelab is just my partner and my own surnames combined with the cheapest TLD I could find attached.

@bugbear@indiepocalypse.social I wanted it to be my online handle, and the .online TLD seemed appropriate, given how online I am.

@bugbear@indiepocalypse.social “Shellsharks” originated as a work-related cybersecurity hacking group. The group itself never *really* took off, but I liked the name so I grabbed a domain and the rest is history. I grabbed a .com because it seemed like the right choice at the time. In hindsight a .net mighta been better but w/e 🤷♂️.

@bugbear@indiepocalypse.social I go by the name Vale and have a raging ego. Thus, vale.rocks.
