The most interesting happening this week is about cycling, and walking, and feeling much safer as a Berkeley road user in the future after our City Council voted 7-2 to pass an item to repave Hopkins Street in Berkeley with new protected bike lanes and pedestrian safety improvements! #BikeTooter #BikeNite

SUmmer school at the college ended this week and everything is in "OH NO TEH U PEOPLE ARE COMING BACK IN 3 WEEKS!!!" And we had a moonlight ride where somebody told me they just had Tim who just opened up a bike shop work on their bike. Tim's ktten had escaped and ... found my housemage :P pictures posted, identification happened, and kitten back at La Casa.

And this week is heavy work out of season (again) and it's not the fun kind. It's also Seafair Weekend, with the Blue Angels airshow and the big parade in Lake City and the hydroplane races, which I watch sometimes but not all that often. It's fun in an old-fashioned sort of way tho'. #BikeNite

But my wife had an exceptional week in that several of her ceramic art pieces sold at the galleries this week, and she probably had the best week of sales excluding specific art shows/events.

@ascentale@sfba.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social #BikeNite A1: posting from Alameda, California I woke up this morning with a phone that hadn’t charged overnight and found my charging stand would occasionally flicker to life if I jiggled the cable just so, so I figured I couldn’t really make things worse. I disassembled it to see if I could resolder the USB-C port. Sure enough, my solder work is ugly but it’s working again, hooray for repair!

#BikeNite A1: I'm back in #WaterlooRegion for a change. The big non-cycling happening is "driving". I've needed to go to Burlington/Oakville about once a week for the last few months, and I'm so fed up with driving. The trip is about 100km; I used to drive more than that to work every day. I don't know how I used to manage it. @ascentale@sfba.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social
