I'm at Parkland College (for a few decades) helping folks navigate developmental courses/placements (but fighting the "hey, 5% of these folks could pass college so we should just get rid of developmental teaching" trends) dreaming of structured paths for building understanding *and* fluency instead of "I don't have time to teach you, here's a calculator." #bikeNite #bikeTooter Not working today but we just had a cloudburst. So I have a question for whenever: has anybody turned an old bike into a lawn ornament? I saw one that has the house number on it prominently and others with assorted flowers. I have limited craft abilities/ resources but sometimes that means I think of things others wouldn't :P I can't remember what I did w/ front wheel w/ dynamo hub (need to make sure it's not just Put SOmewhere but I hope I don...

I rode my bike in the nasty malls and parking lots and hotels part of town to go to Costco and Lowe's. Twice I was hailed by folks from the college ;) the second one helped me figure out which parking lot would get me to Lowe's. And the hails were connected hails. "Where's your water????" with a laugh.... and "You're supposed to be at Parkland" also laughing. Little connections are a delight.

BikeTooter Got to office w/ 7:59 on the computer!!! Passed a pedestrian on campus with the same Credit Union Orange Sunglasses. Yesterday got a thumbs up at the 4-way illinois and Race when I did the &quot;hand on hips it is YOUR TURN&quot; signal :) Pedaling pretty hard esp. to make the Mattis light :) Not goin&#39; for 20 today but I did cruise an extra tenth in the parking lot because I Had A Minute for cooling down. I&#39;m sorry, I like our public radio station but pretending your weather is where I&#39;ll go when things are interesting is flat out facetious. OK 2 astounding things in a day. I ***used a coupon*** (and one with a deadline) that got ten bucks off my bill at teh grocery store. (I tucked a dollar in the scratch off lottery but did not win.)
