#bikeNite #bikeTooter Not working today but we just had a cloudburst. So I have a question for whenever: has anybody turned an old bike into a lawn ornament? I saw one that has the house number on it prominently and others with assorted flowers. I have limited craft abilities/ resources but sometimes that means I think of things others wouldn't :P I can't remember what I did w/ front wheel w/ dynamo hub (need to make sure it's not just Put SOmewhere but I hope I donated it to Bike Project or something). At a restaurant, bike buddy said I HAD TO COME OUT AND SEE .... a Gazelle parked outside!!! ALL THE FEATURES!!! I googled (this would bave been 2009ish?) ... NOPE not this side of pond. November day, I have impulse to drop in bike shop as I ride by, say hi, buy a tube. Fritz asks me, "have you eer heard of a Gazelle?" I stop. "I have heard of a Gazelle. I have seen a Gazelle. I have LUSTED AFTER A GAZELLE." Fritz indicates behind me, where a young man stands with a Gazelle. (Not the same one.) He's graduating & goin' back to the Netherlands. Fritz had just told him his asking price ($450) was good, he just "needed to find the right person" and that's literally when I walked in. SELF: when youget the urge to go into a place, go! I wonder if I had perceived the outline... Now to the evening visit which usually means I"m not back in time for bikenite proper.
